Adult Ministries
Adult Ministries Purpose Statement:
Creating opportunities for Christian community and spiritual development
Adult Ministries offer study, fellowship and ministry opportunities for adults. Through educational classes, ministries of caring and involvement, there are many ways that a person can become a part of the life of Kingswood United Methodist Church. Educational classes are led by pastors, laity and members of the Ministry Team. Some of the opportunities for involvement through Adult Ministries are:
KAAN (Kingswood Active Adults Network)
· Fellowship events and social groups for the adults of the church and community.
Adult Education
· Christian education classes for adults. A variety of classes are held in the fall, winter, spring and summer on Sundays and during the week.
· Adult forum is held most Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM on current topics of interest.
· Disciple Bible Study Programs are offered over a 30 to 34 week period for intense Biblical study of Christian beliefs and practices.
· Seasonal classes during Advent, Lent and summer Vacation Bible School
· Monthly First Friday Feast offers an informal social and learning opportunity over a pot – luck supper
United Methodist Men
· A mission and service organization for the men of the church.
United Methodist Women
· A mission and service organization for women of the church, in service to women, children and youth.
Congregational Care
· Ministry of caring for the congregation and assisting the congregation in using their spiritual gifts.
· Provides emergency meals to those in special need
· An active prayer chain.
Pastoral Visitation Team
· Ministry to members and friends who are hospitalized or homebound.
Nursing Home Ministries
· Worship ministry in local nursing homes.
Blood Drive
· Conducts a blood drive each spring.
Blood Pressure Checks
· A registered nurse is available to check blood pressures between worship services each Sunday.
